Project Description
RothLochston completed the piping, mechanical, civil and structural construction works associated with the Beneficiation Plant. This included provision of all labour and equipment as well as outstanding materials and fabrication as required. RothLochston also provided all project management services as needed for the execution of the work including planning and scheduling, project coordination, HSE and Quality over-site. Upon completion of the construction work scope, RothLochston continued to provide coverage for ad-hoc construction requirements as well as commissioning and maintenance support.
Project Challenges
Due to the time period from when the original EPC work on the facility was ceased in 2015 and the restart of construction activities in 2018, there were numerous challenges with scope definition. RothLochston provided the Client with a contract structure that allowed for increased productivity and response time to changes/adjustments to the scope of work to facilitate completion of the work on-time, according to the budget and of the highest quality.
The location of the work and climatic conditions for the region posed unique challenges with respect to materials and resource logistics. RothLochston has extensive experience and has always been successful working throughout Labrador including the more remote and isolated locations. Our in-depth knowledge and proven track record in this region enabled us to successfully meet all of Tata’s stringent requirements for delivery of the services.
