RothLochston is currently recruiting for a Blaster/Painter to join our team in Paradise, NL.  This role supports various functions within the Manufacturing team and plays a key part in maintaining production quality and efficiency.  In this position, you will assist with the day-to-day operations of the production floor, including preparing parts and equipment for painting and protective coatings. Responsibilities include performing sandblasting, surface preparation, and ensuring all work meets quality standards for a durable, high-quality finish.

 

As a Blaster/Painter you will be responsible for the following: 

  • Operate blasting and coating equipment safely and efficiently.
  • Assist in the handling, assembly and packaging of materials to support production activities.
  • Perform routine maintenance and cleaning of sandblasting and coatings equipment to ensure safe and efficient operation.
  • Under supervision, receive training in mixing and applying industrial primers and topcoats (e.g., epoxy, urethane) using spray equipment.
  • Become familiar with finish specification, including WFT and DFT.
  • Inspect surfaces before and after coating for quality, coverage, and defects.
  • Perform touch-ups and rework as needed.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment in accordance with company standards.
  • Adhere to all safety protocols and company policies.
  • Provide support to team members and collaborate effectively to meet operational goals.
  • Assist with additional plant-related labour tasks as assigned by supervision.

 

Education & Experience:

  • No prior experience is required. Candidates from all backgrounds are encouraged to apply. The selected candidate will receive comprehensive on-the-job training.
  • Experience in automotive work, coatings, or surface preparation will be considered an asset.
  • Must be physically capable of lifting up to 50 lbs and standing for extended durations.
  • Exhibits strong attention to detail and consistently follows instructions with accuracy.
  • Dependable, punctual, and committed to learning and professional development.
