RothLochston is currently seeking a Fabrication Coordinator/Draftsperson to join our team in Paradise, NL. This role supports a variety of functions within the Manufacturing team and is integral to the successful execution of projects.

The Manufacturing team delivers services across a diverse range of industries, with a strong focus in the energy sector, particularly for the offshore. The successful candidate will be responsible for coordinating work scopes, preparing detailed shop fabrication drawings, and supporting tender estimation for the company’s manufacturing shops.

 

As a Fabrication Coordinator/Draftsperson you will be responsible for the following:

  • Produce detailed shop fabrication and erection drawings.
  • Create precise and comprehensive cut lists.
  • Monitor and track project progress, productivity, costs, KPIs, and resource allocation.
  • Evaluate performance trends and update schedules and budgets accordingly.
  • Maintain compliance with contractual requirements.
  • Support client reporting and both internal and external project reviews.
  • Coordinate procurement processes and liaise with vendors.
  • Assist in maintaining standards, project control systems, and company policies and procedures.
  • Develop and assemble work packages.
  • Coordinate commissioning activities and manage turnover documentation.
  • Contribute to post-project reviews, lessons learned, and continuous improvement efforts.

 

Qualifications

Candidates should have completed post-secondary education in Engineering Technology or an equivalent combination of academic training and relevant experience, along with proficiency in AutoCAD, Microsoft Office, SolidWorks, Tekla, or other modeling programs. The ideal candidate will have one to three years’ experience in Project Coordination and Drafting, with a strong understanding of construction and project management principles, including the ability to read and interpret drawings, specifications, and tender documents. Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office—particularly Excel—is essential, as is experience using Primavera (P6) for scheduling, planning, and project controls, along with demonstrated expertise in change management. Familiarity with Adobe/Bluebeam is also required. The successful candidate will possess strong skills in budgeting, estimating, project planning, cost control, scheduling, and analytical reporting, complemented by excellent verbal and written communication abilities to effectively engage stakeholders at all levels, and the capacity to manage multiple priorities and projects in a fast-paced environment.
